  1.   By the 4th century BC, farming communities were appearing in low-lying river valleys.  They buried their dead in large urn cemeteries, but with similar grave goods to those in the megalithic (large stone) tombs.  Sometimes the urn burials retained megalithic features, such as a surrounding circle or a massive capstone.
  2.
